Alliance for Justice is a national association dedicated to advancing justice and democracy. There are more than 90 organizations in the Alliance. For 30 years the Alliance have been leaders in the fight for a more equitable society on behalf of a broad constituency of environmental, consumer, civil and women’s rights, children’s, senior citizens’ and other groups. Alliance for Justice is premised on the belief that all Americans have the right to secure justice in the courts and to have our voice heard when government makes decisions that affect our lives.
The goal of the Alliance is to reform the civil justice system to make it more responsive and effective for vulnerable people and groups. The Alliance is engaged in the following to attain its goal:
- The Judicial Selection project to monitor judicial nominations at all levels of the federal judiciary. The Project plays a leading role in encouraging public participation in the selection and confirmation process and raising public awareness about the significant impact the federal judiciary has on all Americans.
- Alliance for Justice strengthens the capacity of the public interest community to influence public policy. This program helps foundations and nonprofits influence policy and public opinion by offering workshops, examples of documents, and technical assistance.
- Its Student Action Campaign cultivates the next generation of progressive activists and strengthens public interest grassroots advocacy.
Alliance for Justice has a broad and diverse membership. The Alliance identify and address threats to public interest and civil rights organizations, as well as opportunities they can seize. It pool resources and talents, drive strategies, organize campaigns, and mobilize constituencies to promote their bold agenda to realize the Constitution’s promise of liberty and justice for all.
